- Clean combs and brushes in a soda solution.
- Wash glasses or stainless steel coffee pots (but not aluminum) in 3 tbsp soda to 1 qt water
- Sprinkle soda on grills, let soak, rinse off.
- Sprinkle soda on a greasy garage floor. Let stand, scrub, and rinse.
- For a pan with a think layer of burned on food, pour a thick layer of soda in it, just moisten with water. Let stand overnight. Scrub it clean the next day.
- Soak shower curtains in water and soda to clean them.
- Sprinkle soda in tennis shoes, socks, boots, and slippers to eliminate odor.
- Repel rain from your windshield by wiping it inside and out with a damp cloth cover in gobs of baking soda.
- Soak dried beans in soda and water to make them more digestible.
- Freshen carpet and upholstered furniture by sprinkling with baking soda. Allow it to sit undisturbed a half hour or so and vacuum.
- Eliminate water rings on finished wood with a paste of baking soda and toothpaste applied with a soft cloth.
- Get rid of ants by sprinkling an equal mixture of baking soda and salt where they are coming in.
- Fill nail holes in a plastered wall with a paste of white toothpaste and baking soda.
